OnSight 2015 - National Museum of Country Life
01 July 2015
This year’s On Sight theme at the National Museum of Country Life is Welcome to the Stranger: Migrant people, places and spaces. It coincides with the upcoming temporary exhibition Migrant Women: A shared experience, which opened in July.
Last year, more than 62,000 people visited the Museum during On Sight. The exhibition added greatly to the visitor experience particularly for families who explored the grounds through this art trail.
On Sight 2015 saw the installation of fifteen artworks. Including the work of independent artists Nuala Clarke, Jodi Coyne, Lindsay McConnell, Jim Mulroy and Mark Rode. Artists from Mayo Arts Squad (Mayo County Council’s Community Arts Project) lead by Mick Smyth included: Brid Kivneen, Henri Hedou working with Brendan Timlin, Sanita Vecbrale working with Ann Lawrence, Ciaran Sinclair, Saw Tun, Paul O’Driscoll, Dave McInerney, Adam Florian, Aidan Crotty and Julianne Hennelly. On Sight 2015 was documented by the artist Mary Henning who made a film of the artists creating their work which is available to view above.
